Webinar – Accessing Tribal Climate and Health Resilience Data

Are you gathering information to assess tribal climate change vulnerability and feeling overwhelmed? This is the right event for you!

The Pala Band of Mission Indians’ Tribal Climate Health Project invited California Tribal-serving professionals working in climate resilience to join us for a learning opportunity.

At this webinar, we shared the results of recent BIA-funded work aimed at making it easier for tribes to access useful data to inform decisions about climate and health resilience and adaptation.  Attendees were introduced to tools to support efficient fact-finding for their vulnerability assessment efforts, including a simple protocol for requesting data on climate-relevant indicators from our project partners at the California Tribal Epidemiology Center.

2025 Tribal Climate and Health Adaptation Summit

Realities of Tribal Climate Disaster Resilience

Fall 2025

Guided by the theme “Realities of Tribal Climate Disaster Resilience,” the Summit focused on arming Tribal-serving professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to prepare for and act during climate change-related emergencies – such as extreme temperatures, wildfires, and storms – that may affect the Tribes they serve.

Throughout this one-day training, Tribal-serving professionals working at the intersection of climate change, health, and community wellbeing participated in interactive instruction and peer-to-peer learning activities that built knowledge and resilience in the face of climate emergencies and disasters. Organizers, guest speakers, and attendees were invited to share recent findings, successful practices, and resources that are increasing Tribal resilience to a variety of climate exposures throughout the US. The summit provided opportunities for attendees to reflect individually and connect with each other. The summit also recognized Tribes for significant progress in championing climate and health adaptation.
