TCHP Seeks CA Tribal Advisors to Receive Benefits

We are pleased to announce that the Pala Band of Mission Indians has been awarded additional federal grant dollars to further the Tribal Climate Health Project‘s (TCHP) efforts to build tribal capacity to prepare for and address the health and other impacts of climate change through our Tribal Climate Health Project.

We are looking for Tribal Advisors, from federally recognized Tribes in California with wildfire, heat, or water risks, who can help us to evaluate and provide input at approximately 4-6 meetings over a two-year period. At these meetings, Tribal Advisors will help to evaluate climate adaptation tools, point out information gaps, and share Tribal best practices on using data for tribal planning, tracking and decision making.

We will provide Tribal Advisors:

  • Custom vulnerability data/information to inform and/or update your adaptation plans, with a special focus on wildfire smoke exposure, heat, and water supply

  • A private account, and training, on a newly developed heat tool with Healthy Places Index (https://www.healthyplacesindex.org/

  • A $2,000 stipend

If you are interested becoming a TCHP Tribal Advisor, we invite you to a web meeting where you can learn more and we can answer any questions. Please fill out this brief form to let us know you’re interested in learning more.
